The Brief: Ambrose Wilson has a massive catalogue, which is great for variety but can be overwhelming for a customer who doesn’t know exactly what they’re looking for. I was tasked with building a Gift Finder function to act as a digital filter, helping users narrow down thousands of products into a manageable, relevant selection.
The Solution I designed a step-by-step selection tool that asks the user simple questions about what figure shape, occasion, style and size they are searching for.

What I focused on:
- Reducing Choice Overload: Breaking down a complex inventory into simple categories (department, style and size).
- Intuitive UI: Making the shopping experience from choice to basket shorter feeling like a conversation rather than a technical search filter.
- Mobile-First Logic: Ensuring the selection buttons were easy to tap and the results updated instantly without heavy page reloads.

The Outcome The final function provides a curated shortcut to the checkout. It successfully bridged the gap between a browsing mindset and a buying mindset by giving the customer a clear starting point.
